Bauchi threatens to sue defaulting road project contractors
Governor Bala Mohammed has threatened to sue some contractors handling road projects yet abandoned them in Bauchi State.He ordered refunds if the infrastructure could not be completed on schedule.
Mohammed read the riot act during a meeting yesterday with the affected contractors at Government House, Bauchi, expressing his displeasure with their performance.
The governor said the meeting was to ensure the full execution of the abandoned road projects in accordance with the Procurement Act.
His words: “I am not here to beg anybody. I am here with my lawyers and the rest. You should either do it or leave it. I am not interested in anything you have done in the past, but what I will do now, I will do it very well.”
