Bauchi women vow to support Abubakar
Women in Bauchi State have assured Governor Mohammed Abubakar of their total support in 2019, citing his unprecedented empowerment of women in the state.
Aishatu Ibrahim, one of the 500 beneficiaries of the N10 million to boost small-scale businesses in the state, disclosed this to our correspondent in Bauchi yesterday.
She urged the government to take the gesture beyond 2019 to enable more women to benefit.
The project is under Bauchi Sustainable Women Economic Empowerment and Peace Initiative (B-SWEEP), the pet project of the first lady, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar.
“We have worked and prayed fervently for positive change both at the state and the national levels, and today we are happy having President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abubakar in Bauchi State formulating programmes that are improving our lives, and the complementary projects of Her Excellency, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar is going a long way in advancing the economy and alleviating poverty in the society,” she said.
