Bayo-Lawal wins entrepreneurship award at TFAA
Co-founder of Dukiya Investments, Babatunde Bayo-Lawal has emerged winner at the 18th edition of The Future Africa Awards (TFAA) for Entrepreneurship of the Year 2024.
The award recognises Bayo-Lawal’s innovative leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, which has driven Dukiya Investments to remarkable success.
The Future Awards Africa, renowned for highlighting the remarkable accomplishments of young Africans, is shining a spotlight on an extraordinary individual whose entrepreneurial journey serves as a powerful source of inspiration.
Themed ‘Celebrating the Great and Daring,’ the nominees’ list spans 23 categories, including education, law, professional service, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, photography, acting, and music.
In this year’s edition, The Future Awards Africa honed in on individuals who have made significant strides in entrepreneurship despite the challenges facing the country.
The nominees in the same category with Bayo-Lawal included Promise Ovai Kenneth-Odum (CEO Rukkies Decor); Oluwole Fapohunda (CEO Seven30 Real Estate Ltd); Miracle Onuoha (CEO The Fluiide Company Ltd) and Williams Fatayo (CEO MovebytruQ).
The awards was judged by a panel of leaders and visionaries who have left indelible marks on their industries, who ensured that the selection process was as inspiring as the nominees.
Bayo-Lawal described the award as a profound honour, which serves as an important milestone for his previous effort and a motivation for the future.
He expressed his commitment to continue to collaborate with other young Africans across the continent, to change the current story and advance the continent’s fortune, through entrepreneurial effort.
He said: “I am truly humbled to be the recipient of this coveted award for Entrepreneurship of the Year. This recognition is not just a testament to my own journey but also a celebration of the collective efforts of my team, family, and mentors who have supported me along the way.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the organisers of The Future Africa Awards for this honor. Your dedication to showcasing the brilliance and resilience of young Africans is inspiring, and I am proud to be part of this community.

He added that the award is more than a recognition but it’s a reminder that “our work is far from over. As entrepreneurs, we have a responsibility to create opportunities, solve problems, and inspire positive change.”
Bayo-Lawal urged young entrepreneurs to be resilient and not be discouraged by setbacks or doubters, saying, “keep pushing boundaries, innovating, and believing in your vision. Let us continue to drive Africa’s growth through entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration.”
