Newly inaugurated state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Emeka Beke, has called on party members and state executive members to focus on the mandate given to him in Abuja to build the party, pay no attention to detractors and put all necessary motion in place to ensure victory for the party in the state in 2023.
Beke, who made the call, yesterday, at the inauguration of executive members of the party, reiterated that the newly sworn-in state executives were the legitimate custodians of the party’s authority in the state, and asked them to work hard towards driving the party to victory.
He said: “My mandate as the chairman of the party is to lead the party to victory. APC will win elections for both the President and governor of Rivers State and it will be clear to Rivers people a few months from now.
“Let me use this opportunity to tell all my chairmen, to open a register to admit members who want to join the party because the state is ready for us to harvest it.
“I urge you all, let’s go out and talk to our aggrieved brothers to come and let’s work as a family. We have been out of government for eight years because we cannot change the hand of time. We want to appeal, let us win the election with a united house.”
Beke vowed to challenge whoever impersonates him as the party’s state chairman, stressing that he has the mandate of the national executive to run the affairs of the party.
