There was pandemonium, yesterday, at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Lokoja, Kogi State, when Governor Yahaya Bello’s aide de camp ((ADC) invaded the premises with suspected armed thugs, policemen in search of ballot boxes.

The State Assembly election in the state was marred with ballot box snatching and shootings in many parts.

The ADC and his team arrived NUJ premises located at Lord Luggard Road in
12 Hilux vehicles with stern-looking thugs and policemen, saying they had information that ballot papers and boxes were being thumb printed in the premises

After ransacking the premises, the ADC and his men left, but with a promise to continue in their search.

Being election day, all journalists in the state were on the field as at the time of the siege. They only met bar operators and workers at the centre.

The leadership of the NUJ, has however, condemned the invasion.
