…Says former Delta Governor was passionate about God

Bishop Chris Kwakpovwe, publisher of the popular Christian devotional Our Daily Manna (ODM), has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, who passed away at the age of 71.

The renowned cleric described the former governor as a man of exceptional humility, generosity and unwavering passion for God, recalling the remarkable relationship they shared over the years.

Reacting to the news, Bishop Kwakpovwe described Uduaghan as a lover of God, noting that beyond his accomplishments in public office, the former governor demonstrated a genuine commitment to faith and the advancement of God’s work.

“He was one of my believers in the ODM vision, and I can confidently say that he was a man who had a passion for God,” the bishop said, reflecting on the personal qualities that endeared the former governor to him.

Recounting one particularly unforgettable encounter, Bishop Kwakpovwe revealed how Uduaghan once personally drove him away from a crusade ground in Delta State after an overwhelming crowd made it extremely difficult for him to leave the venue.

“He is the only governor who once drove me in his car out of a crusade ground in Delta State because the crowd was so much that it became hectic for me to leave,” the cleric recalled.

According to Lagos News Hub, the Uduaghan family confirmed his death on Monday, October 19, 2026, three days before his 72nd birthday.
