Borno CJ swears in 21 Sharia Court judges
Borno State Chief Judge, Justice Kashim Zannah, has sworn in 21 Sharia Court judges in the state.
Inaugurating the judges, yesterday, at the Musa Usman Secretariat, Maiduguri, Zannah charged them to be firm and just in the discharge of their duties.
“Your responsibility to dispense justice without fear or favour should be in line with your respective oaths of office.
“Each of you, coming in on merit and not by any influence, should have no difficulty in believing us,” he said, warning the judges against condoning corruption.
He declared: “Dismissal or disgrace is the only punishment for corruption; not demotion or transfer.”
On their postings, he said: “All of you were informed that you will be posted anywhere in the state. As peace is being restored, the state government will provide facilities to make your job easy.”
