British schools hold education fair in Nigeria
A delegation of 12 heads and senior leaders from top boarding schools based in the United Kingdom are set to visit Nigeria to meet with families desirous to see their wards receive education in London.
Organized by Mark Brooks Education in association with the UK’s Department for Business and Trade, the programme will feature two events in Lagos.
A statement by the Media Unit of Mark Brooks Education revealed that while the Education Reception and Charity Fashion Show holds at The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos on 19th January, 2024, the UK Boarding Schools Exhibition takes place the following day at the same venue.
The statement disclosed that about 1,500 pupils are currently studying in the United Kingdom from prep, senior and sixth form.
Some of the schools taking part in the exhibition include Badminton School, Cardiff Sixth Form College, City of London Freemen’s School, Downside School, Earlscliffe, Lancing College, LVS
Ascot, Marymount International School London, Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate, St. Clare’s, Oxford, TASIS The American School in England and Wellington School.
Commenting on the development, the Director of Development, Wellington School, Rachel Debenham, expressed delight at the leadership skills of an average Nigerian.
“The number of Nigerian families at Wellington School has been growing over the past five years and they soon feel at home in our warm and welcoming community. They have significant leadership skills and quite a number have become captains in our school; they also work hard and achieve great results”, she said.
