Buhari approves enlargement of NDDC interim committee
Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday approved the enlargement of members of the interim management committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to five.
“President Buhari had earlier approved that the Interim Management Committee would be in place till the forensic audit of the NDDC was concluded,” presidential spokesman Garba Shehu said in a statement on Wednesday.
Shehu said Buhari also approved the appointment of Prof Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei as the new acting Managing Director, to replace Joy Nunieh.
Other members of the enlarged committee are Dr Cairo Ojougboh, acting executive director (Projects), Ibanga Bassey Etang, acting Executive Director (Finance and Administration), Caroline Nagbo (Member) and Cecilia Bukola Akintomide, OON, a former Vice President with African Development Bank, (Member).
The acting managing director Pondei is a professor of medicine at the Niger Delta University, and former provost, College of Health Sciences of the institution.
