Buhari commends Ikpeazu as FG signs deal for city economic zone project
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday commended Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and some private sector investors for the initiated Enyimba city economic zone project.
He said such initiatives were exactly what his administration was looking for to facilitate the creation of employment for the populace and boost the country’s economy.
President Buhari spoke at the Presidential Villa during the signing of Definitive Agreements for the project between the Enyimba City Economic Zone Limited and the Federal Government, represented by Nigeria Special Economic Zone Company.
The President, while thanking the host communities for their commitment to the project, urged everyone to be confident of the success of the project which falls under the purview of the Minister of Trade and Investments, who hails from Abia State.
In his remarks, Ikpeazu, who led the delegation of leaders and stakeholders from the state, thanked the President for his support for the project, noting that Aba, a commercial city in Abia State where the project is sited, was strategically located for easy access from all Southeast and South-South States of the country.
Maxwell Ogbulu, who spoke on behalf of the host communities, thanked Ikpeazu for the project and informed the President that all the affected communities donated the land for it voluntarily because of the benefits to them and the nation.
