Buhari, Jonathan, Atiku, Osinbajo, others pay last respect as Dickson buries mother

President Muhammadu Buhari; former President, Dr. Ebele Jonathan; Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi, and others left politics aside, yesterday, to pay their last respect to Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson, the late mother of Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, who died August 8, 2018 at 72. She was buried in Toru-Agiama, Delta State.

Buhari, represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, sent a condolence letter he personally signed. The President described the late Ma Goldcoast as a loving mother, who made serious sacrifices to train her children on the path of success.

Dickson thanked the President and other distinguished Nigerians across party lines that took out time to be part of his mother’s burial. He said Nigeria was too big to be torn apart by political differences, stressing that disagreements were normal in politics. Dickson said it was indeed in society’s interest for political actors to disagree on issues.

Atiku said the legacies left behind by Ma Goldcoast were made manifest by the lives of her children.
