President Muhammadu Buhari was joined yesterday by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Mongunu and Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Lawal Daura, as well as Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu for Juma’at prayers at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Buhari was also joined during the prayer session by other top government officials including the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello; Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, Permanent Secretary, State House, Jalal Arabi and his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, among others.

After the session, the NSA, DSS boss and the EFCC acting chairman were seen engaged in a conversation at the villa.

It is the first time the DSS boss and Magu were seen in an open private discussion since the crisis that followed his (Magu’s) confirmation as the EFCC boss by the Senate.

President Buhari was also joined in the Juma’at prayer last Friday by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai.

The absence of the President in the Villa mosque during previous prayer sessions since his return from a medical vacation in London, United Kingdom (UK) had sparked speculations that his health may have relapsed.
