Buhari should study his manifesto, start afresh, says Okogie
Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos His Eminence, Anthony Cardinal Okogie has advised president Muhammadu Buhari to go back to his inaugural speech and the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) manifesto, study them and start afresh so as to revamp the economy and alleviate the sufferings of the people.
Okogie said this during the thanksgiving mass to celebrate his 80th birthday and priestly ordination golden jubilee, held at the Holy Cross Cathedral, in Lagos.
“If Buhari wants to make a quick turnaround, let him take his inaugural speech and APC manifestoes, study them and start all over again. Not entering office, enjoying and taking the people for granted, exploiting the resources of the land and ignoring the people of the land. He should retrace his steps if he wants to revamp the economy, especially the educational sector. The future of Nigeria should not be jeopardized for the upcoming ones,” he said.
While condemning the new Hijab wearing law by the Osun state Government as very wrong and sneaky, he thanked God for a lot of birthdays in his life and picked this one as his best so far, because it felt extraordinary and also advised the people to have hope, because as long as there is life there is hope.

Apart from the statement or Bishop’s observation my concern is about Hijab and all that, I suppose it was the Osun State Government that rushed to sack police officers in his State at the instance of boko-haram and he went replaced them with Muslim officers what I am saying is that they need National Orientation – an incisive kind for Nigeria, and behold IBB was told about need for this back in 1992 when Prof. Omo-Omorui was advising his administration!
We will review and take appropriate action.
