Buhari, South-West govs, others to attend Ekiti cultural festival


President Muhammadu Buhari, the five South-West governors and their five other colleagues from other zones, are expected to grace the 2019 edition of the Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture christened EKIFEST, which is due to commence on December 10, 2019.

Leader of the planning committee set up by the state government and professor of Dramatic and Performing Arts, Ojo Razak Bakare, who gave the hint in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, said that the event would also feature over 1,500 participants.

Bakare, who spoke at a press conference announcing the cultural fiesta, said the event was meant to boost the socio-economic and cultural values of the state and would be done in partnership with MTN, Bajinatu Herbal Drink, Nairabet, among other co-operate bodies and sponsors.

Meanwhile, the Director-General, Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, said the intention of the programme was to develop the talents of Ekiti young citizens in tandem with human capital development policy thrust of Fayemi’s administration.
