Yusuf Buhari, son of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged victorious in the primary election of the All Progressives Congress for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat.
He secured 5,849 votes to defeat Honourable Auwal Daura, who polled 21 votes in the exercise.
Yusuf had in April declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described his decision as part of a broader effort to contribute to governance and grassroots development in the constituency.
“With all respect, I am extremely delighted to write and inform you of my intention to contest for the seat of House of Representatives at the above-mentioned constituency (Sandamu/Daura/Mai’adua), under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC),” he had said.
