Buratai, former DSS boss mourn Major General Chris Alli
Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai and former Director of DSS, Dennis Amachree joined Nigerians to mourn the demise of ex-COAS, Major General Chris Alli (Rtd).
According to Buratai, through his Humanity Care Foundation, the nation mourns the loss of Major General Chris Alli (rtd), a distinguished former Chief of Army Staff, who passed away in a military hospital in Lagos on Sunday, November 19, after a brief illness.
“In light of this tragic news, the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has extended its deepest condolences to his family, the Nigerian Army, the Armed Forces, and the Nigerian people.
“Major General Chris Alli (rtd) served as the Chief of Army Staff between November 1993 and August 1994, leaving an indelible mark on the Nigerian Army, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and the nation as a whole. His commitment, dedication, and selfless service to the country will always be remembered.
The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation, led by its Grand Patron, His Excellency Amb Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai Rtd CFR Betara of Biu and Garkuwan Keffi, has expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the Nigerian Army, the Armed Forces, and the family of the late 9th Chief of Army Staff.
The Grand Patron recognized Major General Chris Alli (rtd) as a man of honour who served the country with unwavering dedication and commitment. The late Chief had Hugh regards to our Grand Patron Lt Gen Tukur Buratai Rtd. He will be missed greatly.

According to Amachree, “Yes, I was in Service when he became the COAS. At that time I saw him as a very brilliant general, but could not comment much of his achievements. So I beg to pass on Gen. Chris Alli.”
