CAN president, Bishop say church has role to play in emergence of president
The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Daniel Okoh, has said that only a God-fearing president is needed in Nigeria to take the country out of the doldrums.
Okoh spoke during the double celebrations of his 75th birthday and 55 years in evangelical ministry of the pioneer Founder and Presiding Bishop of Grace of God Mission International, Bishop Paul Nwachukwu, in Onitsha on Saturday.
He said 2023 presidential election offers citizens best opportunity to enthrone the president of their choice through the ballot box, expressing the belief that the Church has a great role to play in the emergence of the next president.
According to him, the Church will be able to produce the president of their choice if members can unite and forge a common front.
Corroborating him, the emeritus National Vice President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Nwachukwu, who also marked his 55 years as a preacher, noted that ministers of God should play the decisive role of who becomes the president.
