President Bola Tinubu has vowed to spare no effort at ensuring that Nigerian children are supported to realise their dreams.

He spoke, yesterday, on Children’s Day, which is celebrated every May 27.

The President also rejoiced with parents, guardians, and families nationwide, and called for a reinforcement of family unit values of honesty, modesty, hard work, and charity, which, he said, should be passed down to children, the leaders of tomorrow.

According to Tinubu, society is a reflection of family units and values put together.

He also called for the preservation of principles that would make the country wholesome and thriving.

He stated that with increased investments in education, and recent overhauling of the sector to provide both human and material resources for learning, and efforts by the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children to get children off the streets, his administration would continue to expand access to qualitative education for all Nigerians.

The President, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, reassured the nation of his commitment to ensuring a safe and secure ambience of learning for children, while improving the standard of education.

Similarly, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, and his Enugu counterpart, Peter Mbah, in their goodwill messages, assured children of commitment and support towards realising their potential.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku, Uzodimma’s comments were part of his goodwill message to commemorate May 27, a day set aside for children globally.

Taking to his social media platform, Uzodimma wrote: “To our children, as you celebrate today, remember that your dreams are the building blocks for tomorrow’s successes. We are dedicated to supporting you in every possible way, building an environment where you can achieve your fullest potential.

“Therefore, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to all Imo children for they are indeed blessings from God and embody the hope for our future. We must celebrate them not just today.”
