
Following his tour of four African countries, Chinese Foreign Minister, Mr. Wang Yi, arrived in Nigeria Wednesday.
The Minister touched Nigeria at 7:15 pm local time and was warmly received by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma U. Ahmed, and other top government officials, including the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Yu Dunhai.
The visit, among other benefits, is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between China and Nigeria. Both parties are also expected to foster cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, and infrastructural development.
Wang Yi’s visit was expected to deepen diplomatic ties, promote mutual understanding, and explore new avenues for collaboration.
During his stay, Yi has scheduled to hold a high-level talks with government officials, where pressing global issues, regional security, and economic development would be discussed.
The visit underscored China’s commitment to enhance its relationship with Nigeria, drive growth, and promote regional peace and stability.
