Acting Publicity Secretary of the church, Ogechukwu Emmanuel Oriaku, in a statement, yesterday, said the event would feature sermons, musical performances and special thanksgiving to God.
He also added that the main sermons for the service would be addressed by the GKS President, Felix Ekundayo Adedokun, entitled, “Let Him That Thinketh He Standeth, Take Heed Lest He Fall” and “Was Christ born on Christmas Day?”
The Freedom Day Divine Service, according to Oriaku, would bring together members and friends of the church to reflect on the profound significance of the life, character and teachings of Jesus Christ, as well as its benefit to humanity.
He, however, traced the history of the church and its establishment to 1934 when it was dedicated in Lagos and for the purpose of preaching the gospel of Christ for the salvation of mankind.
Oriaku noted that since then, the church had been commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ in October in obedience to its founder, Saint Gideon M. Urhobo.
