The Rose of Sharon Parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has gifted over 1,000 school children with various school items in its back-to-school community project, aimed at relieving less privileged parents of the burden of catering for their children in the new academic session.

The school children, from different locations, were gifted with school bags, books, stationeries, socks, food flasks and water bottles according to their classes.

Head of the women’s ministry of the church and wife of the Parish Pastor, Chichi Obiagwu, said that the project was meant to influence society positively, winning souls to God and giving hope, especially to the children that are the nation’s future.

Also, a member of the planning committee, Deaconess Abisola Kalejaiye, said that the project was birthed in line with the Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) of RCCG.

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, an SS3 student of Most High School, Abule-Egba, Olumide Prince, expressed appreciation to the church for the initiative, saying: “I appreciate RCCG Rose of Sharon for this gift that will help us resume school because some do not have the opportunity to buy bags. But the church created an avenue to make it easy for parents in terms of school supplies.”
