Church members get free health screening

Elevation Church members receiving free health check

As part of efforts to eliminate the religious barrier to addressing healthcare needs, pharmacists took free health screening to members of the Elevation Church Pistis Conference Centre at Lekki, Lagos.
They were screened of blood pressure, cholesterol, pap smear, mammogram, blood glucose, dental check, body mass index measurement and bone density Screening by Healthplus Pharmacy. The screening took place at the church.

Head of Pharmacy Services at HealthPlus Limited, Dupe Adebiyi, believes that self-care should be a non-negotiable priority.

According to her, “women often think that self-care is being selfish, and we end up taking care of everyone else except ourselves. We usually put off all the necessary check-ups and tests till further notice forgetting that some of these important tests can help detect abnormal changes in our body systems very early and direct us to make appropriate interventions before it is too late.”

The Lead Pastor at The Elevation Church, Bolarinwa Akinlabi, who applauded the initiative said there should be more collaboration from the various healthcare provider to support women and those that are not able to access care.
