The New Seraph (TNS) Evangelical Ministries has called on government at all levels to confront issues affecting Nigerians, including economic hardship, unemployment, rising cost of living, and social instability.
Founder and Iya Aladura General of TNS Evangelical Ministries, Dr Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, appealed during the just concluded 2026 yearly general conference of the church, themed “Revive Us O Lord.”
The three-day conference brought together ministers, church leaders, delegates, members, youths, and guests from across Nigeria and the Diaspora in what became a remarkable gathering of spiritual renewal, reflection, strategic deliberation, fellowship, and collective vision for the future of Nigeria and the church.
Yomi-Sholoye, who described the conference as a divine gathering and a call to spiritual awakening, said the theme was not merely a slogan, but a burden and cry for divine renewal in a time when both the society and the church require realignment with God’s purpose.
She, therefore, urged members of the church to embrace spiritual transformation, deeper commitment, humility, and renewed passion for service,
She emphasised that revival is not merely emotional excitement but genuine restoration and repositioning by God.
“Revival is not noise; it is transformation. Revival is not an event; it is a visitation. Revival is when God restores what was lost, rekindles what was dying, and repositions His people for glory,” she stated.
Yomi-Sholoye, however, reiterated the need for the church to remain a moral voice in the society while continuing to offer spiritual direction, compassion, and hope to the people.
In his sermon, Pastor Festus B. Taiwo challenged members to seek spiritual renewal both personally and collectively as a ministry.
He emphasised total dependence on God, restoration of spiritual fire, and renewed commitment to kingdom service.
Meanwhile, during a panel discussion, respected ministers and speakers, including Apostle Olaitan Oloruntoyin, Apostle Dr Oke Raphael, Dayo Oyewo, and Rev’d Taiwo Akinmoladun, addressed practical issues surrounding church growth, leadership, governance, accountability, youth engagement, media influence, and the future direction of the church.
One of the most talked-about sessions of the conference was the final-day panel discussion on media and digital influence, themed: “Impact of the Media in the C&S Church: The Good, The Bad and Ugly.”
The session critically examined the growing role of digital media in shaping the identity, doctrine, communication, and public perception of the Cherubim & Seraphim Church in contemporary society.
Speakers acknowledged the enormous opportunities presented by social media and digital platforms, particularly in evangelism, youth engagement, global visibility, and community building.
Also, concerns were raised about misinformation, doctrinal misrepresentation, unhealthy online conduct, monetisation of spiritual activities, and the dangers of prioritising entertainment over genuine evangelism.
The panellists emphasised the urgent need for intentionality, discipline, accountability, and excellence in the church’s media engagement, while encouraging districts and members to use digital platforms responsibly as tools for spreading truth, promoting revival, and advancing the gospel.
The newly appointed National Chairman, Primate Michael Shodimu, was officially inducted alongside other members into the leadership council.
The outgoing National Chairman, Apostle ‘Yemisi Iyun, was also honoured and appointed Special Adviser to the Iya Aladura General on General Duties in recognition of his years of service and contributions to the ministry.
