Commission tasks governors on equitable distribution of amenities
The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has called on the state governors to ensure even distribution of social amenities to Nigerians.
Chairman of the commission, Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, who made the appeal yesterday, in Abuja, during a one-day sensitisation programme for stakeholders from the North Central zone, with the theme ‘Promoting peace and national development through equitable distribution of socio-economic amenities and infrastructural facilities nationwide,’ explained that the workshop was to create an opportunity for exchange of ideas to assist the commission to execute its mandates effectively.
In his remarks, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, who declared the event open, said it was essential for socio-economic and infrastructural facilities in the country to be fairly and equitably distributed among the various geo-political zones.
He was represented by the Director, Planning and Statistics, Office of the SGF, Emmanuel Ogunmefun.
