Leader of Yoruba World Congress (YWC), Prof. ‘Banji Akintoye, has announced the removal of Dr. Amos Akingba, Akogun Tola Adeniyi, Prof. Anthony Kila and Mr. Solagbade Popoola, from their executive positions in the Congress.

A statement signed by Akintoye, Prof. Ezekiel Ogundowole, Dr. Wale Adeniran, Evangelist Kunle Adesokan, Otunba Sade Olukoya, Chief Imam of Yoruba, Sheik Abdulraheem, Mr. Akin Adejuwon and others, directed the affected executive members to return necessary property in their possession immediately and continue to remain floor members of the congress if they so wish.

Other leaders who endorsed the statement were Mr. Akin Adejuwon, Akinola George, Mrs. Bunmi Abidogun and Pastor Olusegun Bankole. But when contacted for his reaction, Adeniyi forwarded an unsigned statement, claiming that Akintoye had reversed himself.

“Leaders mentioned to have been removed include Dr. Amos Akingba, Akogun Tola Adeniyi, Prof. Anthony Kila and Mr. Solagbade Popoola.

“Akintoye, after a conversation with the Secretary General in Lagos, has announced that the council remains intact.”Meanwhile, efforts to reach Akintoye failed as he was said to be in a meeting at the time of filing this report.
