Coomassie’s remains laid to rest
The remains of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Ibrahim Ahmadu Coomasie has been laid to rest in Katsina State.
Coomasie’s remains was interred at the Rimin Badawa, Filin Samji graveyard at about 2.30pm after a prayer session was held for him at the GRA central mosque.
The ex-IGP died on Thursday evening after a brief illness. He was aged 76.
A federal government delegation, led by the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari was in the state to console the state government and Katsina over the loss.
Other members of the delegation included, Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami; Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Danbazau; Senator Abu Ibrahim and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Garba Shehu.
The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris, member of House of Reps, Ahmed Baba Kaita (Kankia, Ingawa, Kusada Federal Constituency), Emir of Potiskum, Umaru Bubaram, among others, attended the prayers for the deceased.
Kyari said President Buhari was particularly saddened over the loss, being that the president and the deceased were classmates.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and the family he left behind, the fortitude to bear the loss.
