Corrupt individuals behind call for Wike’s resignation —Forum
Following demand by some Civil Society Organisations asking the Minister of the Federal Capital (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to resign, the Nigerians Patriotic Forum (NPF) has accused corrupt individuals and land grabbers of trying to frustrate the minister’s move towards sanitising the nation’s capital.
Chairman, NPF, Aliyu San, stated this when he led protesters to the National Assembly to throw their weight behind the minister.
The demonstrators raised the alarm that some land grabbers were all out to blackmail Wike over his administration’s reformdrive.
Sani described the allegations levied against the minister as outright falsehood that should be disregarded.
According to him, it was normal for corrupt individuals and land grabbers to sacrifice everything they have acquired to frustrate Wike’s laudable initiative in land administration.
He said: “It is in the public domain that since the coming of Wike as FCT Minister, he has been able to liaise with Corporate Affairs Commission, where he uncovered 189 fake companies that have been used to secure the allocation of choice lands in the Federal Capital. This discovery has led to the arrest, detention and ongoing prosecution of two perpetrators of this crime.
“The minister, who inherited the menace of “One Chance” criminality in the FCT, has come up with a workable solution to the problem, which include rolling out buses and taxis to be driven by well-profiled individuals.
“The political hirelings, who raised the weighty allegation that the administration of the FCT minister lacks accountability failed to give one example speaking in innuendos.”
