Court grants Dagogo N20m bail

Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has granted bail to the member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Farah Dagogo, who is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and cultism.

Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has granted bail to the member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Farah Dagogo, who is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and cultism.

Trial judge, Justice Chinwendu Nworgu, in his ruling on bail application by counsel for the defendant, Cosmos Enweluzo, granted Dagogo bail in the sum of N20 million with one surety, who must deposit a passport photograph alongside the defendant.

Justice Nworgu also ordered that Dagogo must not be allowed to travel outside the country without the leave of the court and to deposit his international passport in court.

The judge also directed that the surety must be an indigene of Rivers State, who owns a landed property within Port Harcourt valued not less than N20 million.

Speaking to newsmen outside the courtroom, Counsel for Dagogo, Enweluzo, expressed joy that his client had been granted bail despite the difficult conditions attached.
