The Director General, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Sir Joseph Ari has stated that despite COVID-19 disadvantage to the world economy, it has also given birth to new ideas and innovations that would make people adjust favourably amidst the pandemic.

Ari, at an interactive session with newsmen in Jos, Plateau State, assured Nigerians that the country would come out stronger and healthier from the pandemic ravaging the world.

The DG said the unfortunate development has led to the closure of many viable industries in the country, with many out of jobs, adding that ITF has put all these into consideration in its reviewed vision for 2020-2024 through skills acquisition programmes.

He pointed out that President Muhammadu Buhari has rolled out new economic policies, aimed at revamping the country’s economy, create jobs and wealth for the citizens.

The Director General, who was disturbed that Nigeria is yet to be member of World Skills Summit, which avails nations of the world the opportunity to know the trending skills acquisition, added that ITF has mapped out plans to ensure Nigeria is registered under President Buhari to prepare citizens to function effectively in infrastructural and skills development.
