COVID-19: MeCure engages over 10, 000 doctors
Access to quality healthcare has been identified as the most important need, not just for Nigerians but citizens of every country in the world, with telemedicine, considered as an effective means to treat patients during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Product Manager, MeCure Smart, Mr. Ajinkya Shelar who disclosed
this in a statement yesterday, said the pandemic has forced consumers to show an overwhelming interest in placing the health and safety of their
families first and are adopting innovative ways to interact at these
“With the rising cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, MeCure Smart in partnership with HelloDocApp has launched an online consultation
platform that brings over 10,000 doctors to provide quality remote
healthcare services to Nigerians…”
“As businesses continue to grapple in these unprecedented times, if there is one thing needed more than anything else to keep going, its innovation and MeCure Smart seems to be innovating in the right direction. “The demand for telemedicine has picked up exponentially ever since the pandemic took over. The change in behaviour has been nothing short of dramatic. Now, patients prefer remote consultations and visit clinics only if absolutely necessary for tests.
This allows both the
doctors and patients a very safe and effective environment to manage
The product manager said the partnership will allow MeCure Smart app to onboard more than 4,000 doctors across every specialty ranging from General Physicians to even Neurosurgeons, adding that “we intend to further expand it to up to 10,000+ doctors by end of 2020. “Each doctor on the platform has a verified Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) certificate and is vetted through a rigorous background check. We hope that through this initiative anyone in Nigeria will immediately have access to quality and affordable healthcare that is also COVID safe.” He added.
