Says Delta, Ekiti govs, 3000 participants to attend
The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has revealed that Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, would be the special guests of honour at the 26th National Women Conference.
Wife of Lagos State Governor, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, while speaking yesterday during a media briefing to announce the yearly event, stated that 3000 physical participants are expected at the conference.
She said: “Over the years, the National Women Conference has evolved into a platform for knowledge, empowerment, reflection, networking and inspiration. Each edition provides an opportunity for us to examine issues that affect women, families and communities, while encouraging women to take purposeful steps towards creating positive change.
Sanwo-Olu said that there would be a pre-conference walk, themed “Blueprint in Motion: From Vision to Action.”
She said she would like to be remembered for building the capacity of women and creating opportunities for them to contribute meaningfully to their families and society.
She said her greatest aspiration was to have positively impacted women across different spheres of life, noting that COWLSO had provided a platform for human capacity development and community engagement over the years.
The governor’s wife said she was particularly proud of her efforts to promote ethical compliance in the health and education sectors and strengthen connections between the organisation and communities.
