The installation will feature 360 ground-mounted solar panels supported by three hybrid inverters with a total capacity of 150kW. Energy storage will be provided by three high-voltage lithium-ion batteries, each with a capacity of 50kWh, ensuring uninterrupted power supply in a three-phase configuration. The project is expected to be completed within 12 weeks, delivering a state-of-the-art off-grid energy solution for the Iroto Conference Centre, a facility managed by the Educational Cooperation Society (ECS).
The move underscores ECS’s commitment to adopting sustainable and eco-friendly practices. By investing in renewable energy, the organisation aims to reduce its environmental footprint and ensure long-term energy independence and operational efficiency. The new system is projected to offset approximately 50 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
Speaking on the significance of the project, Julian Bassey, Managing Director, Crimson Power Ltd, Julian Bassey said: “This project represents a significant step forward for ECS in adopting sustainable practices. It highlights our ability to deliver innovative, scalable, and environmentally conscious energy solutions. The installation will not only enhance energy reliability but also set a precedent for other institutions in Nigeria to follow.”
He also expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “This project further solidifies Crimson Power’s reputation as a reliable and world-class solar solutions provider. It underscores our commitment to quality and strengthens our presence in the Nigerian solar industry. We are ready to take on similar opportunities and deliver even larger-scale projects.”
Bassey emphasized the importance of teamwork in meeting the project’s timeline and budget. “Under the leadership of my business partner and COO, Engr. George Anijah-Obi, I am confident this project will be completed with precision and excellence,” he added.
Founded by Julian Bassey as Crimson Electric in 2011, renamed Crimson Power in 2020, specialises in designing, installing, and maintaining high-quality solar power systems. The company also provides electric control panel design, fabrication, and energy audit services. This latest contract reinforces its leadership in Nigeria’s renewable energy sector and reflects its vision for a greener, more energy-independent Africa.
As Nigeria continues to address its energy challenges, the project at the Iroto Conference Centre highlights the potential of renewable energy to deliver cost-effective, sustainable, and reliable solutions for institutions and businesses alike.
