CSOs, citizens partnership key to probity, accountability
The Chairman, Centre For Anti-Corruption And Open Leadership (CACOL), Mr Debo Adeniran, has said citizens and civil societies must cooperate to make government more accountable, responsible and responsive.
He stated this at the Exploratory Conference on Lagos Open Parliament (LOP-4), organised by CACOL in Lagos to x-ray the performance of the Lagos State government.
“The LOP, as a project of CACOL, focuses on the periodic analysis of government’s general performance including field work. It is intended to assess budgetary implementation in Lagos State within the last two years,” he said.
According to him, “This exploratory meeting involves gathering of citizens from all local governments in Lagos State, to give individual and collective opinions on governance, as it affects budgetary implementation and advise if the tools used and the data collated so far are adequate.
