Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has joined Nigerians in mourning the passing of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, describing him as a national treasure whose life embodied service, humility, and excellence.
In a statement released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Barau said the late Dantata’s contributions to business, philanthropy, and community development spanned generations and left a lasting impact on Kano State and the country at large.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. We have lost a father, mentor, and visionary. Alhaji Aminu Dantata was more than a businessman; he was a builder of lives, communities, and institutions,” he stated.
Barau praised Dantata’s unmatched legacy in various sectors, including commerce, real estate, banking, construction, oil and gas, and manufacturing, as well as his deep devotion to charitable causes.
“For decades, he was a beacon of integrity, discipline, and generosity. His example will continue to guide those of us in leadership and business. Nigeria owes him a debt of gratitude,” Barau noted.
He concluded by offering his condolences to the Dantata family, the Kano business community, and all who were touched by his life, praying for Allah’s comfort and mercy.
“May Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdausi and give his loved ones and all of us the strength to bear this monumental loss,”he said.
