Darway Coast, All On, others unveil 500KW solar mini-grid in Ogun community

The Ibaragun community in Ogun State is set to experience a major shift in electricity supply following the completion of a 500KW solar mini-grid project developed by Darway Coast in partnership with All On, Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), and others.

The project, inaugurated this week, aims to provide consistent and clean electricity to residents, reducing dependence on unreliable power sources and driving economic growth.

Speaking on the project, Darway Coast CEO, Henry Ureh, described the initiative as a game-changer for the community.

“The completed Ibaragun mini-grid project will deliver immediate and lasting benefits to the community through reliable, clean energy,” he said.

The 500KW mini-grid, funded through All On’s DART program, is designed to enhance productivity and improve the quality of life for households, businesses, and public institutions in the area.

The solar-powered mini-grid is expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions, promoting environmental sustainability while providing an affordable and stable electricity supply.

According to All On’s CEO, Caroline Eboumbou, the project aligns with the company’s goal of expanding sustainable energy infrastructure across underserved regions.

“All On continues to be devoted to fostering the development of sustainable energy infrastructure across the region, with the goal of fueling economic growth, enhancing livelihoods, and reducing the environmental impact of energy consumption,” she said.
