The Delta State government may have approved the appointment of the newly crowned monarch, Chukwuka Noah Akaeze as the Obi of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Council of Delta State.

This is against a strong protest by Chief Emmanuel Ejiofor, the Onishe of Ubulu-Uku.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah told journalists yesterday that the government decided to approve the appointment of the teenage king as he has met all the requirements from the traditional council of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom to the local council and the state government .

Ukah assured: “The date for the presentation of the staff of office has not been fixed. There are processes for an Obi to be appointed. As far as we are concerned, there is no petition before the government against the Obi. We have no evidence of any crisis in that community. If there is any, it has not reached government.’’
