Delta State Government says it will soon come up with a gazette on open grazing law.

The state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, made this known yesterday while speaking on a live television programme on Channels Television, monitored in Asaba.

Aniagwu said: “Beyond the issue of the security that we seek to address with that particular law, we are also very convinced that the law will improve the business of animal husbandry in our state because today we are not even able to tax anybody taking cow from one point to another.

“But by the time you put it in a ranch, the animals will be healthier, more persons will gain employment because somebody will now have to supply food materials for these animals to feed on.

“So it is going to be a win-win situation for both the breeder, the person into marketing, those who sell and those who buy, it is going to be beneficial and we shall certainly implement the law.”

The commissioner also said the state government had provided key infrastructure targeted at ensuring peace in the state and improving the living standards of the people.
