Delta police nab two drug dealers, suspected armed robbers

The Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest, yesterday, in Asaba, said the raid led to the arrest of the Suspects, one Mrs. Ogala Juliet, ‘f’, 42 and Ifeadi Macaulay, ‘m’, 26yrs.
 
According to Edafe, they were arrested on September 1, 2o22 at about 2130hrs, with two bags of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and 20 cans of liquid substances suspected to be “monkey tail”.
 

 
He said investigation is ongoing as the Command has resolved to fight the menace caused by Indian hemp and controlled drug dealers in the state.
 
“ The Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed Alli, has ordered continuous raids by Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in their areas of responsibility.
 
“The Commissioner has also admonished the youths to stay away from these substances capable of destroying their lives.”
 
Also, Edafe has confirmed the arrest of two suspected armed robbers by operatives attached to Eagle-Net Special Squad, while on visibility patrol along Issele-Azagba/Ogwashi-Uku road, in Aniocha Local Council of the state.
 
He explained that the suspects were arrested based on credible information.
   
Edafe stated that the information led to the interception of their tricycle (Keke) with Delta State commercial colour marked: AWK 941 QC and tag No. DT/CT/10550B.

“The tricycle was driven by one Anthony Onyekaba ‘m’ of No. 223 Asei Quarters Azagba Ogwashi-Uku with four occupants, and after a thorough search, one Eze Paul, ‘m’, 27, of Okofia and Henry Dukkwu of Ugbetiti, ‘m’, 28 both of Issele-Azagba were arrested.
 
“They were nabbed with one locally made double barrel pistol with two live cartridges concealed in a bag, one techno phone, one Infinix phone, one OPPO phone, a phone and N5, 750.”
   
The PPRO further said the patrol team attached to Warri Area Command intercepted a 20- year-old Conference Nyerhovwo from Jesse town in Ethiope West council of the state.
   
He said the police officer subjected the suspect to a search and one locally made cut-to-size double barrel shotgun and four rounds of live cartridges were recovered from him.
 
“He was arrested and taken to the Area Command. Investigations later revealed that the suspect was on a revenge mission, claiming that some suspected cultists murdered his elder brother, named Ovie Nyerhovwo.  He then contacted his friend, who lives in Ghana to tell him where he hid his gun,” Edafe added.
