More Nigerians are mourning business mogul, Olorogun Michael Christopher Onajirevbe Ibru, who passed on last Tuesday at 85 years.

They include the Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Mr. Festus Ovie Agas and prominent lawyer and a former president of the University of Benin Alumni Association (UBAA), Chief Richard Oma Ahonaruogho.

Agas expressed his condolences to the family and the people of Agbara-Otor in Ughelli North Local Council on the demise of one of its illustrious sons and the patriarch of the Ibru clan.

In a statement in Asaba, Agas described the life of the business genius who died on September 6, 2016 as a gift to Nigeria by the Providence of God.

The scribe recalled that the late Ibru was immensely successful as a pioneer entrepreneur whose legacies have become institutions that define Nigerian’s business environment. He noted that his exploits motivated innumerable Nigerians to also become accomplished businessmen and professionals in various fields.

According to Agas, “though gone, Olorogun Michael Ibru, like his other siblings, lived a meaningful life which is worthy of emulation and fulfilled his dream on earth as an accomplished business mogul of all times.”

Enjoining members of his immediate family to take solace in the fact that Ibru left a great legacy and made positive impact on mankind, he prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.

Ahonaruogho, an Urhobo like the late business titan, wrote in a condolence message to his son, Olorogun Oskar Ibru: “The Great Iroko has fallen. Your father was a pride to the world. Millions called him Ose (Father). You did him proud while alive and surely you will continue to be a pride to the world. Like father, like son.

“Long live the Ibru Dynasty. May Papa, Olorogun Michael Ibru’s soul find eternal rest in the Lord, Amen.”
