‘Deposing monarchs won’t curb insecurity in Rivers State’

Governor Nyesom Wike

Action Democratic Party (ADP) gubernatorial candidate of Rivers State in the March 9 ballot, Victor Fingesi, has argued that threats to remove traditional rulers of insecure domains would not address the security challenges in the state.

He stated this during the second anniversary celebration of ADP in Port Harcourt yesterday.

Fingesi, however, advised the state government to convoke a non-partisan security summit of stakeholders and residents for the solution to the situation.

The ADP chieftain advised Governor Nyesom Wike not to play politics with security, as it does nobody any good.

He said: “Containing insecurity is not what should be left in the hands of the local governments only, and removing traditional rulers will not address the challenge.”
