Doguwa wins, Ganduje’s son loses to NNPP

The leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa has won his Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal constituency of Kano state.

The leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa has won his Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal constituency of Kano state.

Doguwa’s victory at Saturday’s poll now guaranteed his return to the green chamber for the 6th consecutive term.

Doguwa of the APC won with 39,732 votes to defeat his closest rival, retired Air Vice Marshal Yushau Salisu Abdullahi of the NNPP who polled 34,798 votes,

The returning officer Doguwa/Tudun-Wada federal constituency, Professor Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai, who declared the results affirmed Doguwa as the winner of the contest with the highest votes cast.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rimin-Gado/Dawakin-Tofa/Tofa federal constituency, Umar Abdullahi Umar has lost to serving member of the house Abdulkadir Tijani Jobe of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Jobe was declared the winner with 52,456 votes to defeat Umar, the son of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who scored 44,809 votes.
