Remains of Nigeria’s first indigenous chartered accountant, Pa Akintola Williams, arrived on Thursday morning at the Muson Centre Onikan as funeral services as part of activities towards his final laying to rest.

Pa Akintola died at the age of 104 on September 11, 2023, and will be laid to rest today. He is survived by two sons and grandchildren.

The funeral service attracted dignitaries such as Troyka Holdings, Limited CEO Biodun Sobanjo, Pastor Mrs Ifeanyi Adefarasin, wife of Paul Adefarasin of the House On The Rock church, and Zenith Bank Chairman Mr. Jim Ovia, and others.

A special valedictory session had been held in his honour earlier in the week by the institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a professional body, which the first black Chartered Accountants led its establishment.

At the service, pa Williams was described as a man of integrity worthy of emulation by Nigerians.
