The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the holiday on Tuesday in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo urged Christians to reflect on the values of sacrifice and love shown by Jesus Christ, who died for the redemption of mankind.
He also encouraged Nigerians to use the holiday period to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the country.
Easter is one of the most important events in the Christian calendar, marking the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The minister extended his greetings to Christians across the country, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration.
