Imansuangbon demands cancellation

Governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last Edo State gubernatorial primaries appear to have resolved their differences and given their backing to Mr. Godwin Obasaki, the declared winner among the candidates.

This was made know to journalists in Abuja at the end of a meeting of the aggrieved aspirants with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and some party leaders on Thursday, who said that there was the need for them to resolve their differences amicably as a family, even though they disagree, in the larger interest of the party.

Meanwhile, one of the aspirants, Mr. Kenneth Imansuagbon has called on the leadership of the party to cancel the exercise, saying it was fraught with scientific manipulation in favour of the declared winner, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Imansuagbon in a statement yesterday urged the leadership of the party to take a critical look at the outcome of the primary “if APC is truly committed to winning the governorship election.”

The agitated aspirant, who said he would lodge his complaint to the party formally about he conduct of the election, also alleged that watermark technology was used to rig the primary.
