Edo music ace, Osayomore still in captivity one month after

Abducted veteran musician, Osayomore Joseph, would this week be spending one month in the hands of his captives, who have held him since October 4, when he was kidnapped and his wife reportedly shot in Orovie village, off Upper Ekenwan road in Egor local government area of Edo State.

The Guardian gathered yesterday that the social critic might still be in custody because of suspicion of alleged involvement of close associates.

It was gathered that the abductors earlier requested for N200 million as ransom, but they have changed their demand from N200 million to insisting that a new house he is reportedly building around Ugbowo area should be sold, after which they will now say what their next demand would be.

Sources said this development jolted the family as they also said it was the passenger side of his vehicle that had signs of gunshots thereby casting doubts that his wife was shot as she was the one driving when the incident happened.

Many of his fans have launched a ‘Free Osayomore Joseph’ campaign where they even reportedly solicited for funds to raise the ransom.

Osayomore, the family source said, had lamented severally whenever his abductors put him on line that they should raise the needed funds to free him.
