Former governor of Bayelsa State Senator Seriake Dickson is being quizzed by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The senator representing Bayesla West in the National Assembly, who arrived the headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja at about 11 am is still being grilled by a team of operatives over wide ranging corruption issues.

The allegations, a source familiar with the matter said borders around abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds during his eight-year rule of Bayelsa State between 2012 and 2020.

A senior official at the commission confirmed to The Guardian that former governor, is with the anti- graft agency.

Though the details of the allegations against the former governor were sketchy as of time of filing this report, the source disclosed that Dickson was invited on issues that relate to assets declaration and misapplication of intervention funds and other assets belonging to the Bayelsa State government.

Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren confirmed that Dickson is with the commission but he did not give details .

It is unclear whether the former governor would spend the night in the custody of the anti-graft agency.
