EFCC may arraign ex-SGF Babachir Lawal
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may arraign former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, over alleged criminal charges.
The Adamawa State indigene was sacked by President Muhammmadu Buhari on account of his alleged looting of the funds belonging to the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE) through disguised companies.
Though he has consistently maintained his innocence.But the investigation report submitted to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, by the Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, found otherwise.
The document also includes draft charges the anti-graft agency considered appropriate for the ex-SGF to face in the event that the Federal Government decides to give him the opportunity to clear his name in the court of law.
