The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) has said that efforts are ongoing to broker peace between Chief Reuben Fasoranti and Pa Ayo Adebanjo of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere.

Secretary-General of YCE, Chief Oladipo Oyewole, disclosed this yesterday.
The YCE scribe said: “The Yoruba Council of Elders is aware of the misunderstanding.
“Accordingly, efforts are ongoing to mediate by talking to the elders (both of who are nearer to 100 years).
“One of them has been met by a high team of the YCE and a meeting is in view with the other elder.
“We, Yoruba, cannot roast our elders in the sun in the twilight of their years. So, the situation must not be allowed to degenerate beyond the present state it is.”
