Ekungba drums support for winner, preaches against violence
A Board of Trustees (BoT) member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Jamiu Ekungba, yesterday urged the people of the state to support whosoever won the governorship election in Ondo State.
Ekungba spoke in Owo Local Government Area, when he performed his civic responsibility at Igboroko Ward 3,Unit 13, as he canvassed for peaceful conduct during and after the poll.
He said the election had been peaceful despite portending threats and incisive statements from some quarters that Owo, where the party’s candidate, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) hails from, would be plunged into crises.
The BoT member, whose cars and house were destroyed during last Thursday’s political crisis in Owo, implored the people to desist from any act that is capable of fomenting violence.
Ekungba, who was also an aspirant in the September 3 APC primaries, said there was no justification for arson, bloodshed and chaos.
