El-Rufai opens Kaduna books and arts festival
Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-rufai yesterday inaugurated the first edition of Kaduna Books and Arts Festival (KABAFEST), promising that the festival would be a continuous affair.
He said at the official opening that part of the rationale behind initiating KABAFEST was not only to promote the creative arts and nurture minds, but also to create jobs and wealth for the people of Kaduna, adding that it was the sole responsibility of the state government to support creativity and the arts.
El-Rufai also criticised those he described as saboteurs, who are campaigning on social media to boycott the festival, maintaining that Kaduna has always been and would remain the center of literature in Northern Nigeria.
